I’m looking for a simple prayer for my best friend
who is in early stages of pregnancy and could use something that she
could say every day to calm her anxiety. Any thoughts? Heidi

Dear Heidi, thanks for writing on behalf of your friend.
I think this is a good one. It is called "A prayer for a pregnant woman
for a safe pregnancy." (from the book "Orech Tsadikim") I think the
original was Yiddish, and I am translating from the Hebrew:
May it be your will, my L-rd and the L-rd
of my ancestors, that You will be filled with mercies and great
kindnesses for all of the pregnant women of your people, Israel,
and in particular (insert your name) daughter of (insert mother's
name), that you will guard them and save them throughout their pregnancies,
and ease the difficulties and troubles of pregnancy. May they not
have any illness, G-d forbid, or pain, wound, or infliction. Please
save them from all harm and danger, from fear and terror. And may
the fetuses in their wombs be whole and complete with all their
limbs and organs, and agile and complete- protected and guarded
from all bad things.
Basic and to the point. I wish your friend a wonderful
and safe pregnancy, birth and life as a mother. She is very fortunate
to have such a great friend who works so hard to help her out! all the
best! Chana
